Tea Partiers Advise G20 Protesters | ||||

Political protesting is a difficult (but often an important, daring and noble) matter. In the US a resurgence in the field has been seen lately, especially with the FOX News supported Tea Parties, against higher taxes, neither noble, daring or important compared to every other issue facing the country. During the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh last week the Daily Show got some Tea Party protesters together to try and help the G20 protesters to succeed with their aim. It was, as so often with the Daily Show, sadly comedic.
The ones protesting healthcare upset me, though I am glad to see a revival of political protesting generally. There's a big difference between watching this kind of news in Amsterdam and watching it here, though. While I was in Amsterdam, at least I could feel comfortingly removed from how my home country is partially crazy.
Sasha: I know what you mean, but there are crazy people here in Europe as well. Yesterday I saw a guy walking around in a t-shirt in the rain! T-shirt! He might have been British I guess, but still.
Haha! He probably was. When I was in Scotland, my Scottish friends would go out at night with only a scarf. In December. When it was COLD. The crazy is everywhere! I think I take it more personally when they're crazy people from my home country, though.
